THE STORY OF OUR HORSES
Where to start the story about our horses....
We think the best way to start our story, is to start with telling about Joe, who is the heart of the club,
it is thanks to his passion and love for horses, and animals in general that our beloved horses are with us.
Joe had horses for the very first time when he was 18 years old, in Phuket,
and was one of the first to offer horse riding for the tourists on this lovely island back in the mid 80´s.
And then, not having horses again until before 2008.
When Joe started having horses again, he did have many different breeds in the beginning,
because at that time, there were not many purebred Arabians to be found in Thailand.
When you get to know Joe, he is all about quality and durability,
especially when living in the south of Thailand, with the climate and environment,
things should be out of quality, which is also the reason
for the love and passion for the Arabian horse breed,
they are truly one of the strongest and enduring horse breeds on this planet.
Joe started South Arabian Horse Club for the first time back in 2008,
offering trails and lessons for the tourists visiting Khao lak and some few locals.
at that time Joe imported Ecology, Isabella, and Shahara from
United states, and Eliza were imported from Australia.
They were the very first purebred Arabian horses that founded the
South Arabian Horse Club.
Due to personal reasons, Joe decided to quit having horses after a few years, and sold out
all the horses. Many of them moved several places around Thailand, and
many ended up at another stud farm in the south of Thailand,
and sadly few of them passed away.
When Joe and Cat got together in 2016,
they went to visit the horses Joe had sold earlier,
and after visiting them, and seen the condition they were in,
they decided to buy back all the horses
to keep them as companions and a part of their family.

The horses came back to our care in bad condition, Ecology, the stallion had chronic Laminitis,
all the horses were malnourished, and Shahara had a hip injury due to the horses
was most likely kept on concrete floors with little space and not let out for long periods.
Eliza and Isabella recovered quickly with proper feeding and care,
Shahara and Ecology, never recovered, we had to sadly put them to sleep due to
them being too much in pain with their injuries that only got worse.
Their legacy lives on with us, with Arabian Princess being the last foal by
Ecology and Shahara.
